These Dancing Stone Silver Earrings are part of Boru’s Damhsa – Dancing Stone Collection. The centre CZ stone literally ‘Dances’ with movement, making it sparkle and shimmer. This Celtic Pendant incorporates a traditional Irish Claddagh symbol and also a Celtic Trinity knot at the top.
The Claddagh symbol in these Dancing Stone Silver Earrings represent love, loyalty, and also friendship. It’s the perfect gift for a loved one or for a good friend.
Legend has it that the Claddagh symbol was originated by Richard Joyce, a Galway native. He was captured and sold into slavery in North Africa. However, while he was there, he was taught his craft by a Moorish goldsmith.
He was finally released after 14 years and returned to his home in Galway where his sweetheart awaited him. While in captivity, he had made what we now know as the Claddagh Ring especially for her. The heart symbolizes love, the hand’s friendship and the crown loyalty.
Celtic designs have been a symbolic tradition for thousands of years and often signifies a true love bond, as is the case with Claddagh: the heart and hands design.
The Trinity knot is the most well known Celtic knot. It is also called the “Triquetra” which is Latin for a three-cornered shape. In the Christian faith, the three points of the Trinity knot represent the Father, Son & Holy Spirit. To the Celts the Trinity Knot was given as a token of promise – to love, to honour and to protect.
